"I've always thought my flowers had souls. . . they seem like real people to me. I've seen the roses rubbing their cheeks together as if they loved eachother, and the forget-me-nots are little blue-eyed children, half afraid of rest." 'Lavender and Old Lace' ~Myrtle Reed~

The Lord Blesses His People With Peace

I woke up this morning not feeling so well, probably due to a lack of sleep, a packed schedule, and a sense of franticness. The packers are coming tomorrow and try as I might, I haven't been able to make myself pack the things which I wish to take with me. I decided that it would calm me down if I took a few minutes to sip on a cup of tea and read my bible. Here is what I read:
Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes lebanon skip like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightening

The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as king forever.
The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Psalm 29

I like the last portion of that verse, it had the desired affect on me. I still have to pack and prepare myself for the inevitable visit from the packers. I still don't feel absolutely wonderful, but the Lord who is my strength will give me peace!
