"I've always thought my flowers had souls. . . they seem like real people to me. I've seen the roses rubbing their cheeks together as if they loved eachother, and the forget-me-nots are little blue-eyed children, half afraid of rest." 'Lavender and Old Lace' ~Myrtle Reed~

He Will Carry Me

Outside my window are the trees, the limp and dead leaves of which still clung to the branches. There is such a deadness about this land, a barenness which is brought on by the harshness of winter. As I looked out my window thinking how the secenery matched my mood, through the clouds burst the sun. The sun's rays warmed my face and for a moment joy swept over me. And on the radio played a song which had blessed me so many times over the past year. Once again it was being played at the right time to bring me hope where the future only seconds before had looked bleak. The words to the song read as follows:

Mark Schultz - He Will Carry Me
From the album Stories & Songs

I call, You hear me
I've lost it all
And it's more than I can bear
I feel so empty.
You're strong
I'm weary
I'm holding on
But I feel like giving in.
But still You're with me.

Chorus:
And even though I'm walking through
The valley of the shadow,
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me.
And when all hope is gone
And I've been wounded in the battle,
He is all the strength that I will ever need.
He will carry me.

I know I'm broken,
But You alone
Can mend this heart of mine.
You're always with me.

Chorus:
And even though I'm walking through
The valley of the shadow,
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me.
And when all hope is gone
And I've been wounded in the battle,
He is all the strength that I will ever need.
He will carry me.

And even though I feel so lonely,
Like I've never been before,
You never said it would be easy.
But You said you'd see me through
The storm.

Chorus:
And even though I'm walking through
The valley of the shadow,
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me.
And when all hope is gone
And I've been wounded in the battle,
He is all the strength that I will ever need.
He will carry me.
