Farewell Hotel, Hello Rental

We've had a busy couple of days around here. In the past week we have successfully packed up all the belongings in our two hotel rooms (there was a lot of stuff) and moved it all into the rental. On Monday the semis arrived with all the belongings that for the past two months have been residing in storage, and our house at the moment looks as if it has just been invaded by a box brigade. We have been spending our days unpacking box, after box, after box, after box. But we are in a house, and that is a really great thing. Our first night in the house was Tuesday night, and I can't tell you how wonderful it was to wake up in my own bed, in a house that had all my belongings in it and realize that I didn't have to take an elevator down stairs to get breakfast.

Moving in has been much more work than I had expected. Because this is still a temporary home and is much smaller than our previous home we aren't able to keep all our belongings with us. We are having to sort and repack as we unpack so even though we are making headway unpacking, the pile of boxes never seems to get any smaller. We are making progress though, we have two bedrooms completely unpacked, and our goal for today is to have the kitchen finished, and start in on the living room. We are motivated to get things done since we are expecting out of town company tomorrow night.

The big highlight of the week was all sitting down around our table for dinner last night. We had spaghetti, french bread, and a fresh salad. It was a wonderful meal.
