"I've always thought my flowers had souls. . . they seem like real people to me. I've seen the roses rubbing their cheeks together as if they loved eachother, and the forget-me-nots are little blue-eyed children, half afraid of rest." 'Lavender and Old Lace' ~Myrtle Reed~

In spite
of the fact that I have forgotten many times over the last week to water the circle of ground that I call my garden, there are new sights to behold which come from that loved plot of ground. The first of many blooms to come from my cosmos plants has opened it's petals to display its bright yellow center. As well as the cosmos blooming, I have several Johhn-Jump-Ups which are blooming. Since I didn't plant any seeds in my garden until the end of May my garden is just beginning to go into full bloom. I have had very little success with starting plants from seed in the past years, but this year while not all the kinds of seeds I planted came up, I got a good showing of both Cosmos and the Johnny-Jump-Ups. I also have fifty, or perhaps it is fourty-nine, Gladioli plants that are promising to make a nice display int he near future, the first of the blooms has opened and the others looks as if they won't be long in following.

And then there's the tomato bush who thinks he owns the whole garden. There are tomato branches popping up all through the Zinnias and Marigolds and weaving their way through the pepper plants. There are dozens of tomatos promising the grow to gigantic proportions and ripen all at once flooding me with more tomatos than I can possible use. None of you happen to be in dire need of tomatos by any chance? No, I didn't think so, but it was worth a try anyhow. I gue
ss I will have to find many uses for tomatos in the coming weeks.
