"I've always thought my flowers had souls. . . they seem like real people to me. I've seen the roses rubbing their cheeks together as if they loved eachother, and the forget-me-nots are little blue-eyed children, half afraid of rest." 'Lavender and Old Lace' ~Myrtle Reed~

Labor Day, a couple of weeks late

My pictures from Labor Day are nearly two weeks late now, but at least they're up now. If we didn't happen to spend the day in one of my favorite coastal towns, I probably wouldn't have posted them at all since I am so late about it.

We headed out to the beach at about 12 in the afternoon on Labor Day to spend the afternoon driving, one of my families favorite passtimes. It may sound odd, but my family loves to drive, we love being in the car all together, listening to music or focus on the families
' radio theaters, or just being quiet. In my opinion there are few things better than a long car trip.

When we arrived at the coast, we spent a considerable time driving on narrow coastal roads, trying to decide on which sea town we wanted to spend the afternoon wandering around in. We picked my favorite bay, my favorite because it has sentimental value, although the location is really wonderful. I came to this fishing town three years ago, when my cousin celebrated her graduation from highschool. It was fun to re-explore the town, this time with Daddy and the boys, I especially enjoyed looking at the boats, they're fascinating.

The other sight to behold was the garden at the lighthouse. The gardener said that it had been a good year for the garden, it looked to me like it had. There were neat rows of spinache, and lettuce, tomatos, green beans, cabbage, broccoli, and two Dahlia bushes. If there hadn't been people around I would have ended up with dozens of photos and the garden, but as it was, I only took this photo of a Dahlia, she was a perfect addition to the vegetable garden, adding a nice artistic touch of beauty to the otherwise green rows of foliage.
