"I've always thought my flowers had souls. . . they seem like real people to me. I've seen the roses rubbing their cheeks together as if they loved eachother, and the forget-me-nots are little blue-eyed children, half afraid of rest." 'Lavender and Old Lace' ~Myrtle Reed~

A Little bit of This and a Little bit of That

Life's been busy lately. Not busy with a lot of extra things, but busy with, the everyday things that just keep coming. Last week we wrapped up school for 2006, I can't believe that when I pick up the books again it will be 2007, life just keeps moving no matter how hard you will it to slow down.

The Christmas Holiday promises to fly by just as quickly as the rest of the year has, I'm already more than halfway through my first week of break. I've managed to keep my free days full of activity, Sunday was my youth groups annual christmas party. The highlight of the evening was going christmas caroling to the houses around the church block, I love to hear the youthgroup sing together, we have some excellent voices among us and as a whole sound pretty good.

Monday brought with it another day of work at the tea room, have I mentioned before that I love my job?
Last week my tea room put on several Christmas Teas, and I got to serve double duty as prelude pianist and kitchen help. I've never had so much fun performing as I did that evening.

Yesterday Mama and I made a trip into the "big city" where I had a dermatologist appointment which entailed a fire drill and a mole removal. The mole removal took all of two minutes and was completely pain free, not even the numbing process hurt. The fire drill took ten or fifteen minutes and it was cold to stand outside in the parking lot in 30 degree weather, atleast it wasn't raining and I didn't have to go out in a gown.

After the visit to the dermatologist Mama and I did a little bit of Christmas shopping, I think I can say that I'm done Christmas shopping now, I have everything that I wanted to get and then some. Now I just have to get the wrapping done before Christmas day, but that is perfectly manageable. After we finished shopping and had a nice lunch at one of Mama's favorite restaurants we headed home and stopped at the property. It was exciting to see that all the dry wall is up in the house, I'm not sure what the next step is but it was exciting to see the house looking like a house on the inside, it will be a lovely place to live when it is finished.

And that brings us to today, a quiet, pretty uneventful but fairly productive day in the little greenish brown house on Mill Street. I got to do some of my favorite things, knit, read, bake cookies, listen to radio theatres, and be read aloud to. All in all it made for a very enjoyable Wednesday which happens to be my favorite day of the week.

I can't tell you what tomorrow holds, it will porbably fill up with more ordinary activities so some extraordinary ones, and be over with in a flash, brining us another day closer to Christmas and the New Year.
