"I've always thought my flowers had souls. . . they seem like real people to me. I've seen the roses rubbing their cheeks together as if they loved eachother, and the forget-me-nots are little blue-eyed children, half afraid of rest." 'Lavender and Old Lace' ~Myrtle Reed~

It's been a long time. . .

I realized looking back over my blog that it's been over a month since my last post, and spring was just beginning to peek its head through the damp earth. Now it's May and the wild Irises on our hill top are coming to the end of their blooms. And we've moved, last weekend we transported our belongings to our home on the hill and began ever so slowly to set up house. Unpacking is a long process when you have to squeeze it into the cracks of a busy life. But it's good to be here, I wake up to the most lovely view every morning, and a walk down a country road is a pleasant way to start the day, especially when I'm taking it with Mama and Daddy.

So to fill you in on the highlights of my life, April was filled with school, work, piano practice, and my first ever youth group retreat. The youth retreat was a fun and positive experience, I must say that leaving on Friday afternoon I was very nervous and wondered if perhaps I'd just made a disaster of a decision. But I didn't, the weekend was full of good friends, and good teaching. The theme was faith and prayer, and really meant a lot to me. I appreciated the time set aside for the youth to spend time doing devotions and really getting into the word. We were given study sheets to help us understand what it was that the passage was saying and then also to start us on thinking how the concepts my apply in our own life. The cool thing was that it could actually be applied to my life. So often youth group lessons are aimed towards the kids living the pop. culture life, and while I don't have a problem with the lessons being aimed towards them, after all they make up the majority of our youth group, it was nice to be taught something that I could actually use.

The next big event was moving, we've been waiting for a whole year and now we're finally at our home. I love the setting, it's worth the inconveniences that come with living out in the country, though I must say that getting a license will definitely be a good thing, now to actually do something about getting that license.

I actually took the bus into work on Thursday, that was a new and mostly good experience. I was very nervous waiting for the bus to come, and when it did come I was even more nervous cause I had to get on it. I must say I was very impressed with how courteous the bus driver was. He even asked me if I was wanting to go to the High School because he would have dropped me off there if I was, but I wasn't I was going to practice piano at church and then head over to work.

And that brings us to today. So now you know the highlights. When I've gotten my room settled and helped Mama put some order to other areas of the house perhaps I will get outside and do some work in the yard, I now have five acres at my finger tips and ten trees, four lilac bushes, one Rose of Sharon bush, and one Spanish Lavender plant to put into the ground. I could have incredible vegetable and flower gardens if I made the time to till the earth and plant the seeds.
